Representatives from the Idaho National Laboratory and eCyclers of Idaho visited many local schools to raise awareness about the importance of recycling electronic waste, or e-waste. During our visit, we conducted various engaging activities and informative sessions that helped students understand the environmental hazards posed by improperly managed e-waste. These activities emphasized the significance of responsible recycling practices.

We had a significant increase in the collection of e-waste (in lbs.) and involvement from schools from FY25 to FY26.

Significant different types of e-waste were collected as well.

There were no devices recycled without data/without batteries as well as with data/without batteries during this year.

The concept of e-waste was better understood by teachers and students this year with much more involvement and success.
Each event will span one month and will run continuously until the end of the school year. The event will begin on the next school day after the school has met with representatives from the Idaho National Laboratory and eCyclers of Idaho to learn about e-waste recycling. These events aim to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to participate actively in recycling efforts.
